I bought Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown a couple of weeks ago. Some of the songs are immediately appealing, but it's taken me a while to get into the rest of them. But I have. It's a concept album, or so they call it, about Orpheus and Eurydice. It helps to know that.
Orpheus, doubting, as he does not trust Hades.
Who's to blame him?
We're preparing for Lent here. We're sitting in a room on a rainy afternoon, thinking about Lenten practices, drinking a Winter Session, and we have our colored pencils out instead of the pen to write sermon. But we better get down to business soon.
